I just received an email from someone at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, where I will be teaching this fall and next spring. The email suggested summer fitness resources and activities. The nicest part of the email was the following: "Finally, please take the opportunity to invite a colleague for a walk around campus. Enjoy the weather, the company, and the edibles our Campus Operations folks work hard to maintain. The strawberries and serviceberries may have come and gone, but there are raspberries, blueberries, and greens ready now, with figs, more greens, and blackberries on the horizon." Wow! A campus that plants and maintains edible fruits for its students, faculty, and staff. Nice.  |
